After a long while on the MK4S I finally upgraded to a Prusa Core One+. The move to a CoreXY machine has been something I’d been thinking about for a while and the Core One felt like the natural next step — staying in the Prusa ecosystem means my MMU3 transfers over, which was a big part of the decision.

Since I have the MMU3 I wanted proper filament management, and the obvious choice was the Core Boxx Premium by Voxel3D_NL. It’s an enclosed filament system that mounts magnetically to the printer frame and integrates directly with the MMU3. Passive rewinding spoolholders handle the buffering. It’s about 5 days of print time and ~2.4kg of PETG — I printed it on the new machine, which felt appropriate. The result is a tidy, self-contained unit with a full-access door and a service hatch so you’re not unbolting things every time you need to get in there.

To give the whole setup a proper home in the garage I picked up a U.S. General 27” Roll Cab from Harbor Freight. Seven drawers, 1,200 lb capacity, and all the filament and tooling has somewhere to live now. I’d be lying if I said the orange powder coat matching the Prusa color scheme wasn’t part of the appeal.
