I’ve been wanting to clean up my spare NAS drives from my last upgrade for a while and finally started building a 10” minirack. The 10” form factor is a nice middle ground — smaller and cheaper than a full 19” rack but still a real rack with proper U-height hardware.
The frame is MandicReally’s Mod10, a fully printable modular rack that stacks as many mid-sections as you need. No supports required, works with standard keystone panels, and recently got an update that swaps cage nuts for M6 hex nut inserts which is a nice improvement. I’m printing it in PETG. But i’m using standard cage nuts.
For storage I’m using RagingRoosevelt’s 3U hard drive bay, which fits eight 3.5” drives in 3U using a Jonsbo N3 backplane. Four 40mm fans handle cooling. It’s a tight package for a lot of spinning rust.

Still early days but the frame is coming together.
