I started off super ambitions this year, farted around with some ideas, then finally landed on these fairly simple bowls.
Finding the design
I found this site full of free vector files called DesignCNC. As an owner/operator of a 3d-printer and laser engraver browsing this site is like shopping. I found this super simple design for a bowl that looks pretty amazing. The cool thing is that you can cut the whole thing out of a single 12” x 12” x 1/8” piece of plywood.
Some joker is selling these things on Etsy for $70! Theirs are a little different, but have a look.
Assembly
I just used some wood glue to stick all the layers together.
Finishing
I then engraved my bear logo on the bottom.
Finally, I gave them all 2 coats of tung oil finish.
